Jimmy Dixon spent most of his formative years in
Germany where his Dad, a Colonel in the United States
Army was stationed. Enthralled with magic, Jimmy
learned a great deal about sleight of hand from some of the
greatest German magicians of the time. By age fourteen,
although not a full fledged professional, he was performing
in local night spots. Seven short years later at age twentyone,
he was recognized as a very skilled and adept
professional and was very much in demand in nightclubs,
supperclubs, hotel/casinos and the state fair circuit.
Constantly striving to perfect all facets of his chosen
profession, he has a reputation of being a perfectionist among
his peers. As to his presentation of magic and illusion, he
constantly amazes even the masters. Over his many
successful years in show business he has broadened his act
to encompass an entire evening of magic and illusions,
assisted by talented dancer assistants.
Jimmy has shown an abundance of diversity and versatility
in presentation - from his world record strait jacket escape
while suspended from a hovering helicopter, to his close-up
sleight of hand. His performance includes a number of the
more recognizable large state illusions, several original
illusions, close-up sleight of hand, a mind boggling yet
comedic mind reading presentation, and his unforgettable
attempts to break his own record breaking escapes.
Working the gamut of show biz arenas from state fairs to
Las Vegas showrooms, to television and motion pictures,
Jimmy has become a world renown performer. While
performing at the Circus Circus Casino in Las Vegas, he was
mentioned in the 1978 Guinness Book of World Records
and gained front page recognition in a variety of newspapers
such as:

The Chicago Tribune “Illusions so realistic that the audience
is never quite sure.”
Omaha Benson Sun “One of the best shows of the season.”
Memphis Commercial Appeal “Exciting and thoroughly
enjoyable.”
Edmonton Canada Journal “The type of show that was
popular long ago but hasn’t been seen in more than twenty
years.”
Saskatoon Canada Star Phoenix “The audience enjoyed the
show tremendously.”
Topeka Daily Capital “Good family entertainment.”
Los Angeles Times “Fascinating, out of the ordinary.”
The Detroit News “Jimmy Dixon, a little bit of wonder.”
